Melanie raised 3,067€ for MABS shaving her hair off!

What an achievement and what a gift. On July 6, MABS Mazarrón received 3,067€ from Melanie Mills.

Mel had her head shaved Thursday 3 July to raise funds for MABS Mazarrón. As a thank you for the help and support we are providing for her dad, Mick.
Mick was recently diagnosed with lung cancer and immediately started an intensive course of radiotherapy five times a week and chemotherapy every three weeks.

MABS are always ready and willing to support anyone diagnosed with cancer, and of course her dad (and mum) is no exception. We are privileged to be asked to help.

Crowd funding

Mel opened a crowdfunding page to enlist support for her challenge and to help her achieve her 1,000€ target for MABS. She wrote: -

‘My dad and mum are supported through his treatment by MABS Cancer Support Foundation. This is a local charity that provides everything from interpreters, transport, 24-hour care, medical equipment when necessary and general support.

This is a completely free service for residents within their local area. The Foundation is run entirely by volunteers, and they depend on donations to keep their service running. Therefore, it is my plan to do a sponsored head shave to raise as much money as possible for this amazing charity’

Goal Tripled

Mel´s goal was to raise at least 1,000€ and that would have been a fantastic boost to the MABS coffers but through tireless fundraising Mel not only met her target, she also smashed it, with the final count reaching 3,067€!
What an achievement and what a fabulous amount for MABS.

Thank you, Mel

We are incredibly grateful to her and to everyone who supported her through sponsorship or donations.
This money will help us continue to help local people who have been diagnosed with cancer.
